Pia Parolin
Pia Parolin (born 1965 in Italy) is a PhD in biology, photographer and book author. She is a member of the German Society for Photography (DGPh), the German Association of Journalists (DFJV) and teaches at the Leica Akademie Germany. After many years of ecological research in the Amazon and the Pantanal, she now lives between France and Germany and works at the intersection of science, street photography and visual storytelling. Her long-term projects include "Promenade Moments" and "Water People Stories". In July 2023 she travelled to India for the ATBC (Association for Tropical Biology and Conservation) international conference and, on this occasion, visited the Soliga tribe to continue Water People Stories with a focus on water and her scientific expertise on aquatic systems. She publishes widely, exhibits internationally and focuses on the emotional and narrative potential of everyday scenes.
