If you haven’t already downloaded the December issue of SPM, you should know that this month we’ve got several interesting (not to mention practical) articles lined up to help you find your style, inspiration from your favorite piece of gear and even a little motivation to head out on the streets with a new project in mind. Here’s a quick overview of what’s in store:
First up, we’ve got an interview with the great Colin Johnson for you. Colin had a life changing experience that deeply affected his photography. He discusses trust and faith on the streets as well as solo traveling and a few tips on technique.
Yanick Delafoge gives some practical advice on how to discover your very own street photography style. Not only does he help you define your style, he’s got some great tips on how to improve and refine your style once you’ve discovered it so as to create a body of work that shows off your personality and view of the world.
Anastasia Petukhova follows up with an article about a few important things she learned from her Leica M6. Her personal journey, with what we might venture to call her dream camera, yielded some valuable lessons that can help any street photographer find inspiration and continue to improve their art.
We’ve also got a street project from the highly talented Simon Hoegsberg to share with you this month. His project centers around 10 faces he found in New York that affected him on a deep level upon first sight. Not only did he create some stunning street portraits with this project, he also got to know more about some pretty interesting people and their faces.
Finally, we’ve selected a few standout photos contributed by you guys, our readers, to share with our street photography community in the “Street Shooters of the Month” feature.
