I’m pleased to announce that Street Photography Magazine Issue 3 is now available in the Apple Newsstand. Like last month, we have two excellent featured photographers. Leanne Staples from New York City was kind enough to spend some time with me discussing her work and approach to shooting on the streets of New York. Her work is amazing.
From the other side of the country, we were able to snag some time with Alveraz Ricardez, a rather new street photographer. But don’t let that fool you, his work is also amazing. And Alveraz provided us with that cool cover photo.
I encourage you to check out interviews then take a look at their websites and Flickr streams in depth. I learned a ton from both of them.
In addition Juan Jose Reyes, founder of the Miami Street Photography Festival, is back again. This time he has written an excellent tutorial about using layers (not Photoshop layers) to make your images more interesting.
Robin Wong, a big time Olympus enthusiast, did a street review of the new Olympus PEN EP-5 camera. Even if you’re not in the market, his photos are worth the time.
And Ben Johnson has given us his take on how to take better photos with a smartphone. With one of these gadgets in your pocket there’s no reason not to shoot daily. Ben’s a very talented pro shooter and has applied his skills to mobile devices.
Finally, once again we are featuring the shooters of the month from the Street Photography Magazine Flickr group. There are so many talented photographers contributing to the group daily that it’s difficult to make a choice. See for yourself in this issue.
