Hey street shooters! The month of May marks a special contest for the Irish Street Photography Group (ISPG), described on Instagram as “A stage set for Irish street photographers.” So what’s the deal?
The theme of this Instagram competition is Window Reflections. One of the judges for the contest is Des Byrne. You probably remember Des from the podcast Des Byrne on Street Photography Collectives, Groups and Clubs, where he talked to us about how he discovered his passion for street photography and how this led him to want to boost awareness about street photography in his home country, Ireland. The second judge for the contest is…wait for it…our very own Bob Patterson! So here’s the rules:
- Photos must fit the window reflections theme.
- Photos must be candid images.
- Photos must be taken in Ireland only.
Easy peasy, right? As for the winner, they will have their image published here in the June issue of SPM! And, if that wasn’t awesome enough already, they’ll receive a free one-year subscription to the magazine. So if you’re a street photographer in Ireland and you haven’t already, start your hunt for those window reflections. Once you’ve captured your image, how do you enter? Simply post the image to your IG account and add the hashtags #IGERSSTREETS and #IGERSSTREETSMAY18. Good luck and happy shooting!
