The Independent Photographer street photography competition is back for another year and we’ve got the details. First and foremost, here are the competition dates (as in the dates you can enter):
September 1 – 30 of 2017
The theme of the competition revolves around street photography in general. Here’s what IP has to say about your entries:
“From candid and unexpected street situations to meticulous geometric scenes within the urban sphere: We are looking for photographers finding those spontaneous and fleeting moments. Whether the subject is your own urban environment or as you explore other territories and cultures: We’re interested in the way YOU see the world. Street photography can take many forms: Show us YOUR streets!
“The Independent Photographer offers a monthly competition, with $1500 in Cash Prizes for the 1st and 2nd Prize each month, and global exposure for all finalists. This is a career-changing Competition that aims to help emerging and professional photographers to get more exposure online but also through their yearly Berlin exhibition. This could be a game changer for many talented artists out there.”
The Competition’s judge is Alan Schaller, a British photojournalist and street photographer based in London. With an emphasis on B&W photography, Alan’s images convey the many diversities and realities of human life. His work has been featured and published in magazines such as The Financial Times, Time Out, Buzzfeed, The Independent and The Metro. Alan is also one of the co-founders of the Street Photography International (SPi) collective.
