How long have you been doing street photography and how did you get started?
My photo career began in the early seventies mainly with sport, mountain and climbing pictures. I began shooting street photography in 2014 with the purchase of my Fuji X T1.
What do you enjoy most about street photography?
The special challenge of the street photography is for me in the “chase” according to special scenes with humans but also special light incidents or everyday situations. Anyway, pictures are around to reveal someone for me – a no go.
You have a knack for capturing people interacting, their expressions and body language. How do you do that? Do you see two people and wait around for them to interact or do you just happen across these moments?
Many of my pictures are very spontaneous. For me the challenge of the street photography is to recognize situations fast and then shoot photos.
What has street photography taught you?
Street photography has aroused in me the hunting instinct. It shows me again and again that behind every corner a surprise can be there and that you have to be as always in life.
