Collectives You Should Know About: VIVO

Vivo is a word that connotes life in several languages and observing life is what this collective does. As practicing street photographers, the members capture fleeting moments, interpreting life around them and challenging our perceptions of the world. The collective also aims to bring an appreciation of street photography to a wide audience. It does so through public forums, exhibitions and publications. Vivo believes that its efforts can inspire a growing interest in the genre and encourage the development of emerging photographers.

The VIVO Collective is a group of photographers that capture unique perspectives and make a good name for street photography in general. In fact, you’ll probably recognize a few of the groups’ members, which include Sixft Whiterabbit, Lukas Vasilikos and Laurent Roch, just to mention a few. In addition to personal galleries, there are a few group projects to check out, such as the “Amongst Us” project, which documents the non-human living beings that share our space even in densely populated urban environments.

If you are a photographer, a visit their website is sure to fill you with inspiration for your next trip to the streets. If you are simply a street photography admirer, you’ll enjoy the artful perspective and the unique projects this collective has put together.
