In a world huddling under a constant deluge of throwaway imagery BME seeks to provide thoughtful and informed photographic consideration of our circumstances, a way to see past superficiality and pretension, to burn through society’s veneer and truly see.
That’s Burn My Eye. A collective that thrives on spectacular, strange and truly unique perspectives. This is one collective that you must get to know, if you aren’t already familiar with them. The group’s members include:
- Joe Aguirre
- Don Hudson
- Zisis Kardianos
- Andrew Kochanowski
- Simon Kossoff
- Federic Le Mauff
- TC Lin
- JB Maher
- Dimitris Makrygiannakis
- Junku Nishimura
- Justin Sainsbury
- Jack Simon
- Barry Talis
- Justin Vogel
That is a LOT of highly talented photographers bundled up into one amazing collective.
One of my favorite parts of their website is the Collective Thinking section. It’s difficult to pull off a group project since each member has a very distinct perspective, but Burn My Eye knows just how to do it. Their projects are fascinating and sometimes eerie, with topics ranging from dreams and nightmares to true romance to dark tales of childhood and a bunch of interesting themes in between.
Anyway, that’s enough from me. Go see for yourself what the Burn My Eye collective is all about. You’re going to love it.
