
Many street photographers have been using their extra time lockdowns and pandemic restrictions have given them to revisit older images, organize their image archives, update or create their websites, and to enter competitions! If entering a competition is on your to-do list, we’ve got a good one for you. The LACP says the following about an exciting upcoming exhibit and your chance to appear in it:
“We are pleased to announce our Seventh Annual Street Shooting Around the World Exhibition! The exhibition will be virtual and will run from April 22 – June 22, 2021, with a virtual opening night reception Thursday, April 22, 5 pm PST, 2021. The theme is street shooting around the world. The juror, Bob Patterson, will select images for exhibition based on creativity, originality, and quality.”
Yep, you read that right, our very own Bob Patterson will be the jury on this one. Submissions are open to amateur and professional photographers around the world. Here’s some key dates:
- Submission Deadline: Monday, March 22, 2021
- Notice of Acceptance: Monday, April 12, 2021
- Virtual Show Opening: Thursday, April 22, 2021
- Virtual Show Dates: April 22 – June 22, 2021
Oh and the prizes are pretty great too. For the Single Image Competition there will be three winners:
- First Prize – $250 gift card plus one-year membership at LACP ($345 value)
- Second Prize – $250 gift card
- Third Prize – free one-year membership at LACP
The winner of the Series Competition will recieve a $1,000 cash prize and have a guest speaker appearance during STREET WEEK in LA (April 18-24, 2021).
All of the winners will have their images published in an upcoming issue of Street Photography Magazine too!
The LACP is made up of a fantastic bunch of people and it goes without saying that the exhibit is going to be fantastic too. This is one competition we highly recommend entering if you can.
