SPM Issue 5
We have two features that resulted from some very fine photographers asking us to publish their work. Our featured photographer this month is Michael Ernest Sweet, a French Canadian photographer who spends his time shooting in New York City and Montreal. As a published author he has some interesting things to share about the whole publishing process.
We have a contribution from another published author, Daniel Hoffmann from Denmark. Daniel has shared his favorite street techniques which uses some his most popular images as examples. Then check out his book which you can download from a link in the article.
As good as digital cameras are, there’s something about texture of film that is hard to replicate. That must be why so many street photographers are returning to it. Our Leica enthusiast, Vic Schmeltz, is one such photographer and he has shared his own personal adventure with film in this issue.
On the flip side, Dean Holland from down under has written a very thorough review of the camera in the new iPhone 5S. His discussion of it’s low-light performance makes it look like a very useful street camera. Check it out.
Our Flickr Shooters of the Month are back with some very compelling work. We appreciate everyones’ contributions in the Flickr group, but you’re making it very difficult to choose. Keep ’em coming. Each photo we publish includes a link back to the photographer’s Flickr photostream so that you can see more of their work without leaving the magazine (of course you have to be online to do it).
