This month we’re doing something different. But we’ll get back to our normal submissions in the November issue.
Early this month I had the honor of being asked to judge the Fredericksburg Street Photography Collective shoot. So I thought we should dedicate the Shooters of the Month article to highlight the winners and honorable mentions from this unique contest.
The Fredericksburg Street Photography Collective in Fredericksburg, Virginia brought together dozens of photographers from northern and central Virginia as well as Washington DC and Maryland to participate in a shoot out. Participants were given three hours to make their best street photos in and around Downton Fredericksburg. Afterwords three of us judged the entries and selected first second and third place winners plus five honorable mentions.
If you think it’s hard to capture one good street photo a month working and whenever you like, try doing it in a three hour period in a very restricted place, and photos had to be straight out of camera (meaning no post processing).
It’s very difficult. But the contestants did not disappoint. We had a very difficult time narrowing down the entries and choosing the winners.
