Before you dive into this month’s selection, a quick note from the editor:
If you follow us on Facebook, you may have heard that we’ve officially reopened the Street Photography Magazine group. This time, with a twist. The group is now a curated space where photos are considered for publication in this very feature. Each month, we’ll select one image from the group to be featured as a Street Shooters of the Month pick.
You can join here if you’d like to throw your hat (or camera) in the ring.
We’re hoping this becomes a fun, supportive place to share your work and see what others are creating. And if your photos aren’t accepted right away, don’t get discouraged. Seriously. Keep posting. Images that are accepted are essentially “in the running,” and we’ll be revisiting the pool regularly.
A couple quick ground rules: be kind, be constructive, and yes…we will absolutely be keeping an eye on the trolls (lovingly but firmly, so don’t be that guy). Unlike most Facebook street photography groups, this isn’t the place to debate the definition of street photography. Rather, it’s a place to share your work, connect, and maybe even get published.
We’re excited to see what you’ve been working on. And with no further ado, here’s our very first selection from the group!

“Women on the Cloud” by Abhay Patel
In the froth in Delhi’s Yamuna River, A devotee can be seen offering prayers on Chhath Puja. The Yamuna River in Delhi appears to be coated in snow, but in reality, it is covered in hazardous foam made from industrial waste. Despite how frightening they may be, Delhi residents have grown accustomed to seeing these images. Still, it is a major health hazard. Bathing in the toxic foam of the river can dry out the skin and worsen dermatitis. The froth may cause skin allergies, rashes, and various kinds of skin pigmentation. It is undoubtedly possible to experience this early on, and in a variety of forms. It’s not uncommon for those who have a family history of autoimmune illness to have a flare up. This chemical can seriously harm the lungs, create gastrointestinal issues, and result in diseases like typhoid if this water, which has a high percentage of ammonia, is swallowed. In addition, long-term exposure to heavy metals like lead, mercury, and arsenic in the contaminated water can result in hormonal problems, conjunctivitis, and hair loss.
Corfu Kiss by Adam Teitelbaum
I took a boat to Corfu, Greece in 1979. Unbeknownst to me I had landed on Saint Spiro day, commemorated with a parade complete with a glass coffin containing the saint’s hundreds year old skeleton dressed in ornate vestments. As the crowd pressed close, I noticed a little baby surrounded by admirers and paying no attention to the parade. As I got closer I captured this image with a 35mm lens.
B-Train, NYC by Garry Waller
A gentleman sits on a downtown B train, framed by the window as he looked directly toward the camera, his appearance almost belonging to another era. After I pressed the shutter, he remained still and expressionless, turning his head and looking on as the train slid out of the station.
Eye by Debraj Purkayastha
The photograph captures a vivid moment in a bustling street market. A woman, adorned in a colorful sari, is seen tending to her live poultry stall. The cage in front of her is filled with chickens of various hues, tied with bright ribbons for easy handling. In the center of the frame, an exchange takes place—a man hands over money while other receiving a black rooster, its wings flapping energetically. The backdrop features weathered blue-green walls, adding texture and depth to the scene. This interplay of vibrant colors and dynamic human interaction brings out the raw essence of everyday life in a local market. The composition highlights the intricate balance between commerce, tradition, and livelihood, evoking a strong sense of place and culture.
