A few of my friends and I give ourselves weekly prompts for our photo walks, this week’s prompt was leading lines. On this cold and windy evening in Minneapolis Minnesota, there weren’t a ton of people out and I was struggling to find interesting subjects. After a couple of hours of walking around taking pictures, we decided to head back to our cars. On our way back, I spotted the perfect subjects with potential for a leading line. I had to sprint to the to get the right vantage point in time and nearly missed it. This was the result.

Fresh Out by Joseph Anderson

This is an image of a street portrait that I shot in Sacramento, CA. Naturally I am intrigued by tattoos and tattoo culture but with this subject I instantly was able to tell he was from Los Angeles just from the style of his tattoos. This image was also shot about 10 minutes after his release from the downtown Sacramento County Jail.
