The man on the park bench could be my uncle, my father. I know he is somebody’s son. Shifting light scatters, chlorophylled and cleansed by thick maple leaves onto his road-mapped face. What is he dreaming? He is unintentionally beautiful in the leafy spring light, a suspended spirit. Portland, OR
