During my walk through Little Odessa, NYC I spotted the intense gaze of this beautiful K9. As he begged his owner for food, I noticed that neither of them seemed bothered by my camera; however, I cannot say the same for the dark-haired gentleman to the right who was quick to order that I leave.

I found this scene in the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam’s old town. I rounded a corner along one of the canals with an ice cream in one hand and my camera in the other, I immediately fired off just two frames struck by the peculiarity of someone sunbathing at the side of a city street without a care in the world. The woman looked like she was having a good day, I really hope it continued after I left.

Bob Patterson, publisher of Street Photography Magazine developed a love for photography through his fascination with the black and white photos in Life and Look magazines as a child. After a career as an executive in the cable television industry, he founded Street Photography Magazine in 2013. His mission is to create a digital platform that gives street and documentary photographers the ability to showcase their work to a worldwide audience. As a photographer Bob practices what he calls “real-life” photography, documenting life on the streets and stories of people in Central Virginia and beyond. He is also a life-long martial artist, avid traveler and curious to a fault.
