Boys, Beach, Bikes and Joy by Carmine Groe

On a recent trip to Danang Vietnam, I stopped when I noticed how much fun these boys were having. After a swim in the ocean, they prepared for their bike ride home when the jokes and teasing, all in good fun, started. I sat down very close and observed while I had my camera very low and composed in the viewfinder. I waited for gestures and composition to come together and made many photos over a 10 minute period before the boys rode away. Technical: Shot from 3 feet away on a Nikon Z mirrorless with an adapted Contax Carl Zeiss 28mm lens at F8

Red shoe by Vadim Marmer

I took this photo at the intersection of W. Georgia and Granville in Vancouver, Canada. This is probably the busiest place in Vancouver, with lots of foot traffic. And sometimes foot traffic appears to be three-legged. I like the contrast between the black leggings and oversized footwear of the person on the left (Mother) with the exposed bare leg in a red shoe accented by a white sock (Daughter). The contrast between Mother and Daughter is stark, and the single leg adds intrigue.

Pondering by Terry Kim

This work is a photo that is taken to provide a sense of juxtaposition between the massive size of the ocean and its waves compared to the single old man sitting by himself. It is a work that pulls out a sense of loneliness that is inside of all of us and comforts us with a feeling of calmness and warmth as we relate to the old man.
