Silhouettes are something that have always fascinated me. Strong graphical shapes and the way silhouettes simplify the subject is something that visually often makes good photos. But I’m also very fascinated by the effect that the anonymity and generalization the silhouettes add. I think this makes it easier for the viewer to apply their own interpretations.
As is often the case with this kind of project, it started by accident. I noticed that I had a lot of silhouette-shots in my archive, and began to collect them in a folder. Later I started a more serious hunt for this type of image.
