This month we explored new horizons with documentary photographer, Terri Gold. Terri captures most of her work off the beaten path, traveling to some of the most remote areas of the globe to capture the people that reside there and the traditions that give meaning to their life.
Terri’s infrared approach to photography is fascinating. It gives her images an otherworldly feel that bring to my mind the feeling you get when you are completely out of your element, overwhelmed by the beauty and mystery of a place you’ve never been before and a people you don’t quite understand yet. And while Terri’s infrared shots are mystifying, there is an undeniable human element in each and every photo that reminds us just how much we all have in common, no matter our language or birthplace.
As you can imagine, Terri has plenty of stories to tell. Listen in as she relates how she “sees” the non-visible spectrum, how she arrives at some pretty unexpected places, and how she’s been affected by the many beautiful people she’s met along the way.
