Interview with Sal Patalano

When this month’s interview began, Bob described our guest as a “master street portrait artist” and that is such an appropriate way to describe Sal Patalano. Years ago, Sal would shoot weddings on the weekends, events he enjoyed greatly, but when he retired from “Corporate America” a couple of years ago Sal took to the streets.

For Sal, street photography is the perfect compliment to retirement. He gets a good walk in, gets to meet new people, and he makes some incredible street portraits that could easily qualify as fine art in the process. Bob and I wanted to know – How does he do it? What is his motivation? What are his interactions with people like on the street? And how does he create such beautiful images?

To hear his answers click on the audio player below and join our conversation. We know you’ll enjoy hearing from Sal.

Sal Patalano

I live in Nashua, NH and Dunedin, Fl (6 months each). I retired from corporate America two years ago (Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis) and since then, I have been photographing folks that I meet on the street (Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Massachusetts and New Hampshire and New York).
