Our year of women photographers rolls on as we enter the final months of the year! This month we were happy to sit down with a photographer we’ve come to view as a friend, Eva Mallis.
Eva is a street photographer based in New York City. As the daughter of Greek immigrants, she has an insider’s perspective when it comes to the struggles and achievements of those hard at work to make a better future for their families – a quality her photographs often reflect. She also has a way of really connecting with her subjects on the street. For Eva, that connection is at the heart of street photography.
Listen in to our audio interview with Eva by clicking the audio player below and get ready to hear about a wide variety of subjects including (but not limited to) her travels to Antarctica, growing up divided between two cultures, capturing the themes of life through street photography, and the pure joy that is the Ms. Senior America competition. Enjoy!
