This month it was our treat to speak with the lovely Eléonore Simon. Getting Eléonore to do an interview with us was a no-brainer after Bob heard her speak at the 2018 Miami Street Photography Festival. With a master’s degree in art history and a CV that includes working as a studio manager and serving as a teaching assistant at the International Center of Photography, Eléonore’s background makes her an excellent teacher, a keen observer and a talented photographer. Add to this her diverse background – Eléonore is French-American and has called many cities around the globe her home – and you’ve got one interesting photographer to interview.
How did Eléonore discover street photography? What does she think women have to offer to the street photography genre? How did she find the courage to make the jump from someone who curates to someone who creates? What does her photographic style reveal about her personality? We asked her these questions and plenty more. To find out her answers, click on the audio player below to listen in on our full conversation.
