It’s almost too easy to open a Flickr account (or any other photo sharing service) and upload your latest images as you shoot them.  This ease in publishing leads to a glut of photos online which makes it difficult for all of us to find quality photographers to follow.  It’s almost impossible to sift through thousands of images to find a few gems.

Instead  consider starting a photo blog where you upload your best images and take some time to write about each..  Taking the time to do his can take you to the next level and give others an opportunity to learn more about you, how you see and why you shoot what you do.

This month our issue is all about photo bloggers so I thought it would be helpful how to create your own photo blog using the popular WordPress.com platform. It’s easy to get started and best of all it’s free.

Here’s how to get started.

Part One – Open Your WordPress Account and Create Your Blog

Part Two – Customize Your WordPress Blog

Bob Patterson

Bob Patterson, publisher of Street Photography Magazine developed a love for photography through his fascination with the black and white photos in Life and Look magazines as a child. After a career as an executive in the cable television industry, he founded Street Photography Magazine in 2013. His mission is to create a digital platform that gives street and documentary photographers the ability to showcase their work to a worldwide audience. As a photographer Bob practices what he calls “real-life” photography, documenting life on the streets and stories of people in Central Virginia and beyond. He is also a life-long martial artist, avid traveler and curious to a fault.
