How did you get started doing street photography?
“I started out in the year 2012. I bought myself a compact camera ( Ricoh GRD4), started to walk the streets and take photos, and also explore more and more about street photography.”
How would you describe your style? Many of your photos make me think, “solitude.” Is that what you’re looking to capture?
“I don’t know what ‘style’ I am doing, I also do not think I would make use of any ‘style’ to limit myself when it comes to street photography.
“I believe everyone have his or her own unique perspective towards matters. I just shoot what I perceive. Thanks for telling me your perspective towards my works. In fact, I’m not sure why my photographs turn out this way.
“Let me put it in this way, every time I walk the street, I take pictures based on my mood. It is like an reaction, when I perceived something special, I trigger my shutter to capture the image.
“Life is full of interesting happenings that attract me, make me curious. I am the person who walks the street looking for those happenings to record.
“What is street photography? To me street photography is a freedom to shoot anything. It is like masturbating, I do not need anyone to agree with me or in this case to limit me to trigger the shutter, because it is all my own business.”
Any post processing tips or tricks you’d like to share?
“I use High Contrast Black and White mode in GRD4. I do not spent too much time post processing my images, just some minor adjustments on B&W contrast and exposure level.”
What is your biggest goal as a street photographer?
” In fact I am just a person who enjoys walking the street and taking pictures with a camera.”
